Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

Fridgent ("we," "us," or "our") built the Fridgent mobile app (the "App") to turn photos of your food into recipes. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

The short version: We use your fridge photos only to detect ingredients and generate recipes. We don't sell your data, we don't store your photos after processing, and most of your settings live on your own device.

Information we collect

Photos you take or upload

When you scan your fridge or pantry, the photo is sent securely to our AI processing service to identify ingredients. Photos are used solely to generate your recipes and are not retained after processing or used to train models.

Taste profile and preferences

Information you enter in Personalize taste — such as your name, cooking skill, spice level, diet, allergies, disliked ingredients, cuisines, nutrition goals, household size, and cook-time limits — is stored locally on your device and sent with your recipe request so results are tailored to you.

Usage and app data

We store certain data on your device, including your saved recipes, daily scan count, and a randomly generated device identifier used to enforce free-tier limits. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.

Purchases

If you subscribe to Premium, purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through our payments provider (RevenueCat). We receive your subscription status but never your full payment card details. Please review the privacy policies of Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.

How we use your information

How your information is shared

We share data only with service providers that help us run the App:

We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers.

Data retention

Photos are not retained after a recipe is generated. Your taste profile, saved recipes, and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes locally stored data.

Your choices

Children's privacy

Fridgent is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated within the App or on this page.
